Marion Durbahn
Marion holds a BA in English Language Education from the University of Santiago, Chile. She earned an MA in Linguistics (Theories of English Language Learning) from USACH and an MA in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, graduating with distinction. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from KU Leuven, Belgium, the country’s highest-ranked university and one of Europe’s oldest and most renowned. Her research covers vocabulary learning, teaching methodologies, second-language acquisition, and the relationship between lexical coverage and comprehension. Her academic trajectory reflects a consistent commitment to quality and innovation in the field of language education.
As Director of Student Affairs at My Simple Wording, Marion plays a central role in ensuring an exceptional learning experience for every student. She is directly responsible for addressing student needs, resolving issues efficiently, and developing strategies to guarantee that each participant receives the full support of MSW throughout their language learning journey. She also works proactively to anticipate potential challenges and implement initiatives that continuously promote excellence in both academic delivery and student support. Her work places the student experience at the heart of the institution’s mission.
Marion holds a central role in curriculum design and continuous improvement, translating evidence and feedback into pedagogical decisions. From Student Affairs, she designs, analyzes, and optimizes initiatives that connect the student experience with course content and teaching methods, in coordination with the Director of Language Education. She also serves as an internal connector for the academic team, strengthening links between Educational Psychology and Language Education, while maintaining close coordination with technology, commercial operations, and executive leadership. This integrative role ensures clarity, unity, and collaboration across all areas, making her a key guardian of MSW’s teamwork culture.
